LONDON BRIDGE COMPETITION -
HONOURABLE MENTION
WDR & RT Taggart was one of a group of design practices selected internationally to display its imaginative redesign for the well-known London Bridge in London at an exhibition opened by Mayor Boris Johnson. The design competition, which attracted entries world-wide, was organised to mark the 800th anniversary of the opening of the first London Bridge in 1209AD. WDR & RT Taggart's successful vision, described by the judges as 'one of the highlights' of the competition, proposes draping the existing bridge with a surreal 'table-cloth' feature and creating a dynamic set of interlocking new buildings that maintain important landmark views along the Thames.
