MOSSLEY PAVILLION
WDR & RT Taggart were commiccioned by Newtownabbey Borough Council to refurbish and extend this 1960's bowling pavilion.
The existing pavilion was completely gutted and all M&E equipment replaced. The current energy ratings were exceeded by 10% by the addition of insulation to the external walls and roof. Solar panels were installed on the roof and a grey water tank was installed to collect storm water to be used to water the bowling green. The main hall had a fully glazed south facing elevation which was replaced with a curtain walling system which provide for "anti-sun" and tinted glass to reduce the glare and the heat build up within the hall. Brise Soleil were also installed to provide shading along this elevation.
