M&S’s Flagship Store in the centre of Belfast has been part of the Retail core of the City since 1967 and has undergone many transformations during its chequered history. The latest project to be carried out is a major refurbishment and extension, involving the incorporation of the adjacent former Bank Premises into the retail footprint. This has involved extensive structural alterations and demolitions, including the removal of stroon room walls.
A completely new Central movement section, a new Façade to Donegall Place and an entire remodelling of all 4 Sales floors has created 90,000 sq feet of retail and required 5 separate Planning Applications including 2 Listed Building Consents.
