TESCO CRAIGAVON
Tesco Extra Craigavon opened its doors to customers in February 2011 and is now the largest trading Tesco store on the island of Ireland. Comprising food and mixed retail on a raised platform, with customer car parking below, it represents the culmination of 3 years of research and development for our Architects and Engineers on behalf of Tesco and Turkington Construction. The store is the first of its kind anywhere in the world, and is being promoted by Tesco as a leading example of the seamless integration of Sustainable and Eco friendly elements into a functioning retailing environment. These elements include larch cladding paneling, wind-catchers, rain-water harvesting, maximum use of natural daylight, passive ventilation, and integrated CHP.
