No 9 LANYON PLACE

The office block situated at No.9 Lanyon Place is different from its recent neighbour, the BT Tower, in a number of distinct ways.  While it is of a similar net area (150,000 sq.ft.) it is only six storeys in height, creating a more horizontal form.  It is a steel framed building, and while it is also an “enhanced”  building it was designed as a multi-tenancy development.  Each of the six floors has the ability to be divided into four individual office suites, each served by a central core of four lifts and staircases, sanitary accommodation and goods lift. Feature ‘salt and pepper pots’ mark the top of each corner of the Building, and the external façade comprises red facing brick, in keeping with the ‘Belfast stock red’ which predominates the Victorian built environment of Belfast, and a mixture of curtain walling and planar glass systems.
