COMBER FLOOD PROTECTION SCHEME
WDR & RT Taggart were engaged by Rivers Agency for the Comber Flood Protection Scheme.
Flood alleviation scheme along the Enler/Comber River to protect residential, commercial and leisure properties. Works included:
- 900m of cantilevered steel sheet piling.
- Back drainage pipeline along rear of flood wall.
- Reinforced concrete flood relief culvert constructed alongside existing bridge.
- Provision of riverside walkway.
- Flood protection banks and riverbank regrading and protection.
- Installation of fish groynes and weirs.
- Major landscaping of the works.
- Construction of 2 no. reinforced concrete and 1 no. steel footbridges.
- Under a separate scheme, the construction of a back drainage pumphouse.
