WDR & RT Taggart were part of the winning team that received the prestigious CONSTRUCT award for Innovation and Best Practice, at an awards dinner at Emirates stadium, London. The award was presented for the flexiarch bridge developed by Queen's University Belfast, in conjunction with Macrete Ireland, and used by WDR & RT Taggart in the design of a river crossing forming part of the Newtownabbey Way project, for Newtownabbey Borough Council. Eight teams, from all parts of the UK, were short listed but in spite of intense competition the Northern Ireland team was declared the outright winner.
