Following a risk assessment study of all existing accommodation level crossings throughout the Northern Ireland Railways network, Translink have commenced a programme of accommodation crossing closures and consolidation.
WDR & RT Taggart were appointed as Designers and Project Managers, as well as CDM Coordinators for the construction of a 13.4m span overline bridge to replace an existing accommodation crossing at Anticur Road, Dunloy, Co. Antrim, for a Capital Cost of £415k.
The works are comprised of precast concrete prestressed beams and reinforced concrete bank seats off reinforced earth abutments, together with the construction of approximately 200m of concrete access road on approach ramps to the new overline bridge.
The works have been constructed in a live railway environment with the Employer safely operating a normal train service (with a temporary speed restriction) through the site during the normal working timetable.
