Mill Brae Bridge is to be widened as part of the proposed Buncrana Inner Relief Road project, on behalf of Donegal County Council.
We have been appointed as Consulting Engineers and Project Supervisor for the scheme, with the works due to commence in 2007 at an estimated cost of €1.0M.
The proposed works include the widening of the bridge, the repair and strengthening of the existing three span masonry arch bridge and parapets, the construction of retaining walls to a height of 8m and services alterations. Widening of the bridge on the downstream face will be carried out by the construction of three reinforced concrete arches with masonry faced parapet and spandrel walls to replicate the existing structure and maintain the character of the existing bridge.
