ANTRIM FORUM SPORTS STADIUM REFURBISHMENT
WDR & RT Taggart carried out the role of Lead Consultant on behalf of Antrim Borough for the £618k works involving the removal of existing polymeric surfaces to track and jump runways and application of new polymeric surface at sports stadium at Antrim Forum, Antrim. Works included:
- Removal and disposal of existing full pour polyurethane system impermeable surfaces.
- Lifting and replacing perimeter kerbs and drainage channel.
- Remedial works on the engineered base.
- 25mm thick open textured macadam wearing course.
- Polyurethane primer to engineered base.
- Impermeable polyurethane synthetic surface to the basemat/ sandwich type complete with coloured top coat.
- Lane and event markings in accordance with IAAF requirements.
- Construction of new long jump pit and refurbishment of existing pits.
- Removal of existing timber perimeter fence to track and replacement with steel mesh and rail.
- Upgrade of existing track lighting to 200 lux.
- Provision of viewing facilities and alterations to aid disabled spectators and competitors.
- Refurbish the rear of the existing viewing stand.
- Provide new bitumen macadam paths.
