ASHFIELD BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL
WDR & RT Taggart carried out the role of Lead Consultant on behalf of the Belfast Education & Library Board (BELB) for the £575k construction of a 3rd generation (3G) synthetic turf floodlit soccer pitch (6,800m²) at Ashfield Boys' High School, Belfast. Works included:
- Removal and disposal of topsoil over the existing natural turf soccer pitch.
- Earthworks to adjust levels over area of new pitch.
- Floodlighting.
- Dynamic base to pitch.
- Drainage.
- Installation of a 55mm long pile 3rd generation (3G) synthetic turf surface with sewn joints and sand/rubber infilling.
- Perimeter fencing of height 3.6m to 5.0m.
- Screen planting to protect amenity of neighbouring houses.
