The Belfast Tunnel project is one of the most significant infrastructure projects ever to be carried out in Northern Ireland, and will provide Belfast with a modern sewerage system capable of meeting present and future development needs. It will significantly improve water quality in the Lagan and Blackstaff Rivers, reduce the risk of flooding in urban area, and ensure compliance with European Union Environmental Standards.
Key features include the construction of approximately 10km of tunnel, a large terminal pumping station, a major outfall structure into the Herdman shipping channel and high level sewer connections. The scheme is a £100M Design & Build Contract and we have been appointed as multi-discipline design Consultants to the Farrans-Morgan Est consortium.
