KENDAL RIVERSIDE
The masterplan concept for the scheme is to create a new swathe of urban fabric on what was largely an open site occupied by a series of stand-alone buildings. Along its southern edge, this new block will define a riverside walkway lined by cafes and restaurants. A network of new pedestrian routes will be formed within the new block, providing access to the proposed retail units and heritage centre. A new urban space will be created adjacent to the town's War Memorial. With its mix of commercial and residential uses and its new streets and spaces, the scheme demonstrates best practice in sustainability and the art of place-making.
