Something seems to have happened in the latest android update to make the usb not work. You need the samsung adb driver only if you are developing on windows and want to connect a samsung android device to your development environment over usb I do not believe it will work with other manufactures ron samsung developer relations I have installed it on multiple android phones, just by enabling usb debugging on the phone and connecting it to a computer running android studio
